March 30, 2010   IMPORTANT NOTICE!!

A software bug was found that will cause the becon only mode switch over to not work correctly. To correct this porblem a simple fix can be made.

The problem can be fixed by changing the line in the .cfg file:

from

144 [number of fixes before bcn mode]

to

144 [number of fixes]

The number of fixes is not important, rather the number of characters after the number (automatically generated.) just shorten the line and save the file - everything should be fine there after. Be sure to power cycle the collar after making this change to re-load the .CFG file.

This bug has been fixed in all collars delivered after March 2010.

We have been busy here! This week we announce the V3! This is in response to all your requests for the same KEDZIG technology in a smaller package. The new V3 GPS collar uses a completely potted electronics and battery assembly for inproved long term reliability. The V3 collar is available for neck diameters down to 3" with the drop off unit. Data down load troubles? Some collars may have shipped with incorrect tune tables. We made a version change and its possible some collars may have shipped with an incorrect tune table. This only impacts the data download of some collars manufactured after October 2008. Please contact us if you have had problems downloading data for an updated tune file.

More frequencies! The GPS-log-v2 is now available in any frequency from 150MHZ to 170MHz in addition to 216-220MHz. Be sure to specify the 1Mhz band you want when ordering!

WAAS Is coming!

KEDZIG GPS collars will be built with the Trimble Copernicus version 2.0 firmware starting in September. This will add WAAS (improved precision ~7.5m at 95% when available) and a path to inclusion of differential correction capability. Differential correction will take a bit of firmware improvements by us, but is projected for availability early next year! Check back for updates!

166MHZ VHF beacons for the GPS-LOG-V2 is now available! This option was asked for awhile, and we just completed an internal antenna and the circuit and software modifications needed! Like all the features in the GPS-LOG-V2 collar, you asked for it, and now you have it!

Recently the NEW drop off unit was announced. Extensive testing led to several recent improvements. The photo is of the first unit. The new design is can withstand hundreds of pounds of force with no damage, yet it can open with little effort. These units rely on DARPA developed aerospace technology to make it highly reliable and totally jam proof. The new unit is stronger than the collars! Check out the products page for details.

Remote Data Download - Super inexpensive and simple!

The Guys at Green Diamond resources have verified the capability of the KEDZIG collars remote download in the rugged mountainous terrain of Northern CA. Check out the picture of the data download set up. It's a great visual of everything you need to do the download - Not much! (The truck or wire spool table is not required - duct tape is always a good idea!) Thanx to Pat Zimmerman for these pictures!
